Business Application Specialist (Finance) – 40 hour – Schiedam

In this dynamic role you will serve as a linking pin between the finance department and the IT department. It is your role to translate the needs and requirements from the finance team to IT solutions. You will meet with IT suppliers and help implement the applications in the finance teams. It is a unique role combining technical IT skills with financial knowledge.

Your responsibilities will be:

  • Engaging directly with our business stakeholders to gather and define requirements, ensuring a deep understanding of financial processes that need support or enhancement through IT solutions.
  • Designing and implementing IT solutions that are closely aligned with business goals, focusing on optimizing financial processes and systems.
  • Serving as a mediator between the business and IT, translating business needs and ensuring clear communication and understanding on both sides.
  • Analyzing financial data to aid in decision-making, identifying trends, and recommending improvements on our one way of working.
  • Facilitating the continuous learning and adaptation of new technologies and methodologies to stay ahead of industry trends.
  • Ensuring that projects and changes are executed efficiently, within budget and time constraints, and achieve desired outcomes.

What you will bring:

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field;
  • A strong track record in a similar role, particularly in roles that bridge the gap between IT and finance;
  • A sound understanding of finance and accounting processes and systems, including IFRS;
  • Experience with SAP FI/CO is strongly preferred, but experience in other accounting solutions (Oracle, Exact, Dynamics/AX, etc.) is also accepted
